Position Summary:

The Junior Payroll Administrator will manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees across Canada and support the payroll processing for employees across the United States using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and provincial payroll regulations. This role will also Provide additional support to the Finance department’s accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed in a collaborative team setting.

This role is responsible for maintaining accurate payroll operations across Canada and supporting payroll-related benefits administration. This role will also learn and support the payroll processing for employees across the United States, including benefits administration. The position will work closely with Finance and People Operations to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

Job Requirements:

Payroll Processing

• Process semi-monthly payroll cycles for Canadian employees

• Learn and support payroll process for US employees

• Administer payroll through ADP Workforce Now

• Manage salary, bonus, commission, and other payroll adjustments

• Support onboarding, termination, and employee changes within ADP

• Ability to manage sensitive employees and compensation information with a high degree of confidentiality

• Assist the finance department with compliance reporting and ad hoc jobs

• Respond to payroll related inquiries, from Canadian and US employees

• Collaborate with Finance and People team on various payroll projects

Compliance

Ensure compliance with:

• CRA payroll requirements

• CPP, EI, and income tax deductions

• T4 review and year-end reporting

• WSIB filings for all provinces

• Other provincial filings as needed

Support the Senior Payroll Administrator with:

• IRS payroll tax compliance

• Multi-state payroll requirements

• 401K audits

• W-2 review and year-end reporting

Retirement & Benefits Administration

Support administering Canadian payroll-related retirement and benefit deductions including:

• Group RRSP deductions

• Employer contributions, where applicable

• Contribution remittance to plan providers

• Coordination with benefits administrators

• Annual true-up calculations

Reconciliation & Reporting

• Support payroll-related accounting entries and coordination with Finance during month-end close

• Ensure payroll deductions align with benefits provider reports

• Produce payroll reporting for Finance and People Team

Finance Admin Support

• Support the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions as needed

• Ad hoc accounting tasks to support a collaborative team setting

Experience Required

• 2+ years payroll administration experience

• PCP designation or actively pursuing it

• Experience processing Canadian payroll

• Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll systems

• Strong understanding of provincial payroll requirements

Preferred

• Experience administering Group RRSP programs

• Experience managing year-end payroll processes (T4)

• Experience with U.S. payroll

Compensation Range: $50,000 - $65,000 CAD OTE annually annually, based on experience, market benchmarks and role complexity. We aim to offer fair, competitive pay that reflects your skills and the market.
